About Santa figurines and belsnickles
Belsnickles lead this room. Belsnickel, the older folk spelling, is the fur-clad gift-bringer of German and Pennsylvania Dutch Christmas, and these belsnickle Santa figurines keep the old-fashioned look: papier-mâché in red, white, ivory, soft blue, and fawn, many in velvet, from 5 to 17 inches.
Santa figurines stand beside them: Santa in a red corduroy coat, Santa with a bag and gold bells, Santa in a chimney, Santa on a sheep. Tabletop nutcrackers come in at 10.5, 13.25, and 16 inches.
Snowman figurines are the other big group, in rattan and papier-mâché, with tall snowman stakes up to 56 inches. Standing penguins and a few nativity sets round out the cast.
