About Christmas ornaments
The largest room on the Christmas side, and most of it is glass. Kugel ornaments come plain, ribbed, crackled, and filigreed, in red, silver, olive, bronze, champagne, and white, from 2 to 6 inches. Glass ornaments in fire red, teal, nutmeg, and ivory fill in around them.
For a whole tree, Christmas ornament sets save time: flocked balls by the dozen, glass bulbs in sixes, mica snowflakes in a box of four, and a boxed set of six vintage-style ornaments. Then add a few that tell a story: a faux fur deer, a cardinal, a gingerbread house, a pickle.
Snowflakes in metal, crystal, and paper, icicles, finials, and tree toppers are here as well.
What is a kugel ornament?
Kugel is German for ball. The name comes from the heavy glass ornaments made in Germany in the 1800s. Ours are new, made in that style, in sizes from 2 to 6 inches.
How many ornaments do I need for a tree?
A common rule is about 10 ornaments per foot of tree for a light look and closer to 20 for a full one. Sets of 6, 12, and 20 make up the count, and a few larger kugels or finials give the eye somewhere to land.
Are these ornaments new?
Yes, every one. Vintage-style is the look: kugels, flocked balls, tinsel, and old-fashioned figures, made new.
